  • Why Buy From Delta Pro Meters & Measurement

Gossen Metrawatt M246C METRAHIT COIL Multimeter, Insulation and Coil Tester

When only the best will do, and you need professional specialised measurement.

METRAHIT COIL - TRMS Multimeter with Insulation Measurement and Interturn Short-circuit Measurement.

The german made METRAHIT COIL multimeters are rugged portable measuring instruments. They are suitable for servicing household appliances, machines (e.g. forklifts) and systems (e.g. photovoltaic).

The instruments can be used in the field and are equipped with an internal, mains-independent power supply.

METRAHIT COIL allows for interturn short-circuit measurements in combination with the COIL TEST ADAPTER. By comparing the measurement results, asymmetries at the windings of 3-phase machines can be directly detected, which, in turn, is an indication of possible short-circuits. In the case of single-phase motors testing is performed by comparison with a known setpoint value.

Interturn short-circuit measurement in the inductance range with the standard adapter COIL: 10 μH to 50 mH @ 100 Hz

The standard adapter COIL is universally suitable for a great number of electric machines of different performance classes. With regard to DIN standard motors this corresponds to performances from approximately 15 kVA to 80 MVA. Adapters for motors with different inductivity are available upon request.

** THIS PRODUCT COMES WITH A FREE GIFT - an Extech DV23 voltage detector pen, valued at $29 **

Man overwhelmed by choice of multimeters

    Confused?

    Overwhelmed?

It’s one thing to know what basic functions you require of a multimeter - Voltage, Current, Resistance, Capacitance, Temperature etc.  It’s another thing to nut through all the specifications and understand exactly what your multimeter is capable of.

A lot of the time you only need to know the course parameters of each measurement,  e.g. up to 1000A current,  600V voltage,  1 mega-ohm resistance etc.  But sometimes, particularly in industrial applications, you need to know how your multimeter performs a particular test, how accurate the displayed results are, and whether or not the multimeter will be safe and reliable for the intended application.

This is where terms such as count, range, resolution, basic accuracy, IP rating, CAT rating, True RMS, crest factor and others come into play.

If you are not familiar with these terms and how they relate to multimeter measurement, Steve has put together a series of blogs to explain in laymen’s terms what each mean.

     Check them out here.
